Alan Bush featured at John Ireland Festival in London in June

The Trust is very happy to announce that there will be a John Ireland Festival to be held at St. Luke's Church, Sydney Street, London, SW3 6NH from 21st to 25th June 2012.

During the Festival several of Alan Bush's compositions will be performed.

Friday, 22 June 2012 at 1.00 pm - Five pieces for Violin, Viola, Cello, Clarinet and Horn, Op. 6 (1925-26) will be performed by The Berkeley Ensemble.

Sunday, 24 June 2012 at 2 pm - Pavane for the Castleton Queen, Op. 43 (1953) for Brass Band will be performed by the East London Brass Band, conducted by Jayne Murrill. This piece was written for the Castleton Wakes Committee and first performed by the Castleton Brass Band in 1953.This is the only composition by Alan Bush for Brass Band. We are very pleased to have the opportunity to hear it again.

Sunday, 24 June 2012 at 8 pm - The Addison Singers, conducted by David Wordsworth, will perform Alan Bush's beautiful choral work, Lidice, composed in 1947 in memory of the crime committed by German occupying forces on 10 June 1942 when Lidice in Czechoslovakia was destroyed and its inhabitants murdered or sent to concentration camps in revenge for the killing of the Reinhard Heydrich.

Prices and booking information are as follows:
Evening concerts £15, all others £12. Festival pass (including free programme) priced at £75, a saving of £45.
In person : Cadogan Hall Box Office, Sloane Terrace, London, SW1X 9DQ. Monday to Saturday from 10am to 8 pm.

By post: Postal booking fee: £2.50 per order. All cheques should be made payable to "Cadogan Hall". Tickets purchased up to 6 days before the event are mailed 2nd class. Tickets purchased within 7 days of the event are held at the box office for collection any time prior to the concert.
