The Alan Bush Music Trust is delighted to announce the re-release by Claudio Records in September 2002 of the Hyperion recording 'Alan Bush'.
The CD features:
The Violin Concerto Op. 32 (1948) performed by Manoug Parikian (violin) and the BBC Symphony Orchestra, conductor Norman Del Mar.
Six Short Pieces for Piano Op.99 (1983) with the composer playing the piano.
Dialectic for String Quartet Op. 15 (1929) performed by the Medici String Quartet.
The sleeve note by Peter Lamb, reproduced from the 1985 L.P., provides useful information about the composer and the works featured and this is supplemented by a biographical note by Rachel O'Higgins.
A review of the CD by Rob Barnett, Editor of Classical Music on the Net and the British Music Society Newsletter, was published in August 2002. Click here to read this review.
The 3rd Movement of the Violin Concerto, and two of the Six Short Pieces can be heard on the Listen section of the website.
The CD (Catalogue No. CB5151-2) is available online from Claudio Records, Studio 17, The Promenade, Peacehaven, East Sussex, BN10 8PU, UK, price £12.99 including p&p (UK).
